Kaikoura Coastline - Things to do in New Zealand

Two Years in New Zealand: My Top 10 Experiences

I can’t quite believe it, but I’m writing this blog post on the two year anniversary of us arriving in New Zealand! To mark this milestone, I’ve decided to compile a bit of a visual best of; photos that capture my top 10 New Zealand memories and experiences from the past couple of years. Many of these are destinations that have already featured on the blog, but I’m so behind on my writing that there are several new places I want to shine a spotlight on too. (I promise upcoming posts on all of them!)

I consider New Zealand my adoptive country in many ways, but of course I’m hardly a local. So with that caveat, here are my very favourite New Zealand highlights in no particular order.

What an awesome list! Seems like a month in this gorgeous country wasn’t enough to see it all. Who would have guessed? :p Ah, just a solid reason to go back some day. 😉
We were so impressed with its beauty it’s hard to say what our favourite parts were, but I’ll try. 😉 The Mahinepua Peninsula Walk was definitely one of the most beautiful hikes, and we were impressed with Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland as well. We bungee jumped off of the Kawarau Bridge in Queenstown (the view!) and spotted some whales and dolphin pots from a tiny plane in Kaikoura.
New Zealand is definitely one of our favourite countries so far and we’re telling everyone they should visit too. Bit jealous you guys are living there!

I know the feeling! Never enough time for all the beauty. I hadn’t heard of the Mahinepua Peninsula, so glad you shared that highlight. Just looked at some Google Image results and it’s absolutely stunning. 😍

The Kawarau Bridge bungee jump is something I keep going back and forth on. Part of me would love to try bungee jumping sometime and, given that it’s the first commercial jumping site, Kawarau Bridge seems like a legendary place to give that a try. The other part is flat-out terrified! Ben’s not keen either, so it’d have to be me taking the leap alone…we shall see!

LOVE your blog URL by the way. At first I was wondering where the domain suffix was and then I realised it was .world! So cool! 😀
